Phase 2 of the Business Recovery Grant Program is NOW OPEN! The deadline to apply is March 18, 2022.

The Business Recovery Grant Program issues a one-time payment of up to $500,000 to eligible North Carolina businesses that experienced significant economic loss due to COVID-19.

Phase 1 of the Business Recovery Grant Program ended on January 31, 2022. There were 6,533 applications submitted during this first application period. Because funds allotted were not exhausted at the conclusion of Phase 1, NCDOR has re-opened the application process for both the Hospitality Grant and the Reimbursement Grant. Business owners that missed the first deadline now have until March 18 to apply.

About the Program

The Business Recovery Grant Program issues a one-time payment of up to $500,000 to eligible North Carolina businesses that experienced significant economic loss due to COVID-19.

Two types of grants are available to eligible businesses that suffered an economic loss of at least 20 percent during the pandemic:

  • A Hospitality Grant will be available to an eligible arts, entertainment, and recreation business, as well as an eligible accommodation or food service business such as a hotel, restaurant, and bar (NAICS codes 71 [naics.com] and 72 [naics.com]).
  • A Reimbursement Grant will be available to an eligible business not classified in NAICS Code 71 and 72 and that did not receive funding from other relief programs including Paycheck Protection Program, COVID-19 Job Retention Grant, and EIDL Advance.

The application and other information can be found on our website. [ncdor.gov]
