Community Volunteer Opportunities

  • The NC Folk Festival will be needing volunteers in the fall. The volunteer list not yet open, but you sign up for their email list. Visit ncfolkfestival.com for more information.

  • The arts council does a biannual fundraiser during market that we are in need of volunteers. We don't actually park the cars, but duties include greeting and directing them, answering questions, etc. The staff will collect payment, but we need help keeping count and tracking cars parked. The event runs April 22 - 29, 2026. Here is the link.

  • The WUG2029 Team is supporting the Greensboro Aquatic Center, Greensboro Coliseum Complex, and the Greensboro Sports Foundation for the U.S. Masters Swimming Spring National Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center this week, (Thursday, April 30 - Sunday, May 3, 2026). The Masters Championships will serve as a partner test event for the Games, helping us with preparation for swimming and diving competition and volunteer recruitment at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
    • There are remaining slots to fill for timers during the meet. If you have an interest in volunteering and assisting on site at one of the country’s largest swimming competitions (no experience needed – you will be trained, fed, and given a volunteer T on site). Please click on the link below, pick your volunteer slot(s), and we'll look forward to joining you at the GAC next week. And as always, you can get WUG29 Volunteer Credit for working this event by submitting you hours on our website here.   Click here to sign up.
