Workplace Workshops:
GMA’s Workplace Workshop seminar series brings nationally known speakers to educate members on business topics such as communication, customer service, productivity techniques, and much more. Take a two-hour break from your regular workday to get motivated, refreshed, and ready to boost your performance at work and at home. Workshops are free to all employees of GMA member companies.
Teach Me Tuesdays:
Teach Me Tuesdays are fast-paced seminars taught by experts within the community on the nuts and bolts of running your business. Topics include human resources, technology, finance, sales, customer service, and more. Seminars are free to all employees of GMA member companies.
Digital Marketing Institute:
The Digital Marketing Institute series of seminars is geared towards small & medium sized businesses. Local experts lead these lunch-and-learn seminars that will keep you up-to-date with all the trends and changes in social media, web optimization and digital marketing, including the legal aspects. Lunch is provided. Seminars are free to all employees of GMA member companies.
Risers Lunch & Learns:
Hosted by the Risers, this seminar series is geared towards young professionals but open to all employees of GMA member companies. Topics covered include Business Etiquette, Goal Setting, Effective Networking and Leadership.

Networking Groups:. GMA sponsors three category-exclusive networking groups that meet each week. Networking groups are a great way to expand your business network and build close relationships with other sales professionals. GMA has three groups to choose from; one is sure to fit your personality and schedule..

After Work Networks: The most interactive networking event in the Triad. Held bimonthly at various member locations around town from 5:00 - 7:00 pm, GMA’s After Work Networks attract up to 200 Triad professionals and are a fun and easy way to meet your next business contact. The events feature complimentary refreshments, prizes, and an interactive “sticker game” designed to help you break the ice and make beneficial professional connections. Free to all employees of GMA member companies.
Noontime Networks: Held bimonthly at various member locations around town from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm, GMA’s Noontime Networks attract up to 100 Triad professionals and are a fun and easy way to meet your next business contact. Lunch is provided, and the event features prizes and an interactive “sticker game” designed to help you break the ice and make beneficial professional connections. Free to all employees of GMA member companies.
Networking Works: GMA, in association with The Leadership & Legacy Group, offers a 4-week training course on effective networking. Networking Works! is an engaging program in which you will learn a 13-step strategic process for building your personal and professional referral network. This class is offered once a year through GMA at a significant discount for members..
Community Involvement
Center City A.M. Briefing: Presented by GMA, Downtown Greensboro Inc. and the City of Greensboro. Briefings are for anyone who lives, works or supports the downtown Greensboro area. These bimonthly meetings provide information on developments, activities, growth and projects for downtown. Each meeting features an in-depth presentation from a guest speaker & reports from city, fire and police officials as well as other agencies.
Police and Citizens Awards Banquet: GMA partners with the Greensboro Police Department to present this event each year in celebration of National Peace Officers Week to honor the heroic deeds and exceptional service of Greensboro police officers. Awards handed out include the Citizen’s Certificate of Merit, the Life Saving Award, Rookie of the Year and Officer of the Year. Police Week events also include a memorial service to honor officers who gave their lives in the line of duty.
Firefighter’s Appreciation: Each year since 2002, GMA has hosted a luncheon at a local fire station to commemorate the anniversary of 9/11 and show our gratitude for the brave men and women of the Greensboro Fire Department. Since 2016, we honor the men and women of the High Point Fire Department with a breakfast.
High Point Holiday Festival Parade: Usher in the holiday season at the High Point Holiday Festival Parade. Produced by GMA each year on the Sunday before Thanksgiving, the parade includes local businesses, organizations, high school marching bands and, of course, Santa! Click Here to View Website

Member Enrichment/Special Events
Annual Dinner: Since 1906, GMA has kicked off each New Year with the Annual Dinner. The evening begins with the cocktail reception where attendees mix and mingle with fellow GMA members & civic leaders. Attendees then enjoy a delicious sit down dinner, followed by the passing of the gavel to our incoming Chairman of the Board. The evening concludes with entertainment from a special guest speaker. Past speakers have included Boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard, NFL Hall-of-Famers Terry Bradshaw & Herschel Walker, and “Baseball’s Greatest Catcher” Johnny Bench. This is THE event of the year! You won’t want to miss it!
Member Outing: GMA organizes occasional social events for our membership. Events include attending a GMA Night at the Grasshoppers, complete with a pregame cookout, GMA Night at the Swarm and Race and Seek, a scavenger hunt centered around your fellow GMA members.
Orientation: GMA’s New Member Orientation is a fast-paced interactive program that introduces new members, new employees of GMA member companies, and anyone looking to get more from their GMA membership. Discover all the programs and benefits that GMA offers.
Risers Meet Ups: Risers Meet Ups are opportunities for young professionals with GMA member companies to network with each other over lunch. While these events are intended for young professionals, all GMA members are welcome to participate.
Risers Socials: Risers Socials are casual networking events held after hours at local venues. Past socials have included Trivia Night, Arcade Games, Brewery Tours and a Swarm game. While these events are intended for young professionals, all GMA members are welcome to participate.
Event Volunteer Opportunities: Volunteering at GMA events is an easy way to get more involved with the association and meet many event attendees. Opportunities include assisting with the networking game at After Work and Noontime Networks, helping with registration at Workplace Workshops, and more.
